What we collect

When you send an enquiry

Our enquiry form asks for:

  • your name and your business’s name
  • your phone number and email address
  • your business postcode, if you give it
  • the product you’re asking about, if you choose one
  • anything you write in the message box

You don’t have to give us these details, but we need a phone number and an email address to reply. You can always call or WhatsApp us instead.

When you call, WhatsApp or email us

We see your number or email address and what you tell us, and use it in the same way: to answer you.

When you visit the website

Our web host’s servers record basic technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, your browser and the pages requested. This keeps the site running and secure.

What we don’t collect

We don’t use analytics or advertising tools, we don’t take payments on this website, and we don’t ask for any sensitive information.

How we use it, and why

UK data protection law says we need a lawful reason, called a “lawful basis”, for each way we use your details. Ours are:

  • Replying to your enquiry. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in answering trade enquiries, and taking the steps you ask for before we supply you.
  • Supplying you, if you become a customer. Lawful basis: our contract with you, and the law, which requires us to keep records such as invoices.
  • Keeping the website secure and free of spam. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe website.

We don’t use your details for marketing, and we don’t make automated decisions about you.

Who sees it

  • Our team. The people at Lavin Meat who deal with enquiries, such as Mehmet Sipar.
  • Hostinger, which hosts this website. Hostinger handles your details only on our behalf, under its data processing agreement (opens in a new tab).
  • Web3Forms, which receives our enquiry form and passes it on to us as an email. It checks the form for spam and keeps a copy of each enquiry for one year, then deletes it. Its server logs, which can include your details, are kept for up to two months. See its privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
  • Microsoft (Microsoft 365), which provides our business email, where your enquiry arrives. See its privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
  • Anyone the law requires us to share it with, such as HMRC or the police, when they have a legal right to ask.

We never sell your details or pass them to anyone for their own marketing.

Maps and social media

The maps on our pages are stored on this website. They’re drawn from open data (OpenStreetMap, Ordnance Survey and the Office for National Statistics), so looking at them sends nothing to anyone else.

Our Contact page can also show a Google map and our latest TikTok and Instagram posts. None of these loads until you press its button. When you do, your browser connects to that company, which receives your IP address and browser details and may set cookies under its own privacy policy:

We don’t remember your choice. The next time you open the page, nothing loads until you ask again.

Some links take you to other services: WhatsApp chats, Google Maps directions, and our TikTok and Instagram profiles. Once you follow one, that service’s privacy policy applies. Messages you send us on WhatsApp are covered by the WhatsApp privacy policy (opens in a new tab).

Cookies

This website doesn’t set any cookies of its own or store anything in your browser, which is why there’s no cookie banner. Our fonts, photos and video are served from this website too, not from other companies.

The only cookies you might get here come from Google, TikTok or Instagram, and only after you choose to show their content (see section 5). You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.

How long we keep it

Enquiries
We keep enquiry emails for 12 months after our last contact with you, then delete them.
Customer records
Records such as invoices, for as long as the law requires.
Our form service
Web3Forms deletes its copy of each enquiry after one year, and its server logs after two months.
Server logs
Kept by Hostinger for a limited time, for security, under its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab).

Where it’s kept and how it’s protected

Your form is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to Web3Forms, which emails it to our business mailbox and keeps a copy for one year. Nothing from it is saved on this website. Web3Forms’ servers are in the United States.

Only the people who need your details to deal with your request can see them. If any of your details are held outside the UK, we make sure they’re protected to UK standards.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the details we hold about you
  • correct anything that’s wrong or incomplete
  • delete your details
  • stop using your details, or limit how we use them
  • give you your details in a format you can pass to another organisation, where this applies

To ask, call or email us using the details in section 1. It’s free, and we’ll reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm who you are first.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve used your details, please tell us first and we’ll do our best to put it right.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint (opens in a new tab) or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your details, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. This version was last updated on .
